International Sales Manager (South East Asia, The Middle East, and Africa)
We are seeking an International Sales Manager to maximise sales across SE Asia, The Middle East, and Africa (excluding South Africa) who is passionate about books.
Your team:
You’ll be part of an award-winning and vibrant team focused on international sales of books in the English language. Our focus is on maximizing the global reach of our fantastic publishing programme and fostering strong relationships with partners throughout the bookselling chain, from major retailers and distributors to independent booksellers.
Your role:
As the International Sales Manager for the South East Asian, Middle Eastern and African markets, you will play a key role in managing all facets of our day-to-day interactions in these regions to grow our sales. You will report into the EMEA Head of International Sales, and will be responsible for executing a successful strategy that drives sales across all imprints. This is an exciting and multifaceted role that has a tangible impact on our overall success as a team. Your key responsibilities:
Deliver sales budget targets within the assigned territory
Cultivate and manage relationships with key customers to optimize sales opportunities for front list and backlist
Collaboratively assess and compare format and pricing on international platforms, providing feedback on both UK and US titles
Act as the International Sales team’s primary liaison for Harriman House, leading meetings, following up with action points, communicating all relevant information and championing the list within the wider team
Promotional and marketing activity in conjunction with the Head of International Sales, the International Communications team and Macmillan US
Planning sales visits and submitting travel plans. Approximately eight to twelve weeks’ overseas travel per year is envisaged as part of the role.
Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:
Outstanding communication, sales, and pitching skills
A proven track record of reaching and exceeding sales targets and key performance indicators
Ability to multitask, and juggle a busy workload
Ability to communicate confidently and build strong working relationships, both internally and externally
Flexibility, adaptability, and the capacity to react quickly when required
Ambitious, positive and a team player
Desire to travel to your regions and build strong working relationships
A passion for books and reading.
Desirable skills we’d love you to have:
Experience working in publishing sales.

Salary starting from: £38,000

This is a full time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
