We are looking for a creative and conscientious Editor to join our friendly and highly successful Tor Editorial team. Tor is an internationally-celebrated imprint specializing in science-fiction and fantasy and we’ve been shortlisted for Imprint of the Year for two years running at the British Book Awards. This is a busy and wide-ranging position with lots of potential for growth. Your primary role will be to work closely with the Publisher on some of Pan’s biggest science fiction and fantasy brands, championing these titles from pitch to publication. This role is not a commissioning role and you’ll have the opportunity to work on a successful list across a range of subgenres including romantasy, speculative fiction, space operas, cosy fantasy and many more.
The ideal candidate will be positive, passionate and well-versed in the science fiction and fantasy book market. You will be an engaged team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills. Excited to work on the next big read in science fiction and fantasy? Then we want you!
The successful candidate will have:
- A can-do attitude in supporting the publisher and championing Tor’s titles.
- A love of speculative fiction/science fiction and fantasy.
- Excellent communication skills and impeccable author and agent care across every stage of the publishing process.
- A conscientious and organised approach to work, being able to prioritise urgent tasks, brief covers and write copy to key deadlines is a must.
Salary starting from: £30,000

This is a full time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
