Senior Email Marketing Manager - Fixed Term
We’re looking for someone to lead our consumer email programme and take our marketing efforts to the next level.
Are you an experienced email marketer with a passion for books and reading? If so, Pan Macmillan has an exciting fixed-term (12 month) opportunity for you to join an innovative digital team within an award-winning publishing house.
As the Senior Email Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing our consumer email programme and driving growth, lead generation, best practice, consistency, content, and quality across our email campaigns. You will manage the Email Marketing Manager to deliver business KPIs.
Key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the consumer email programme, ensuring best practice, consistency, quality. Including excellent creative (design and copywriting), testing, scheduling, and reporting.
- Implement marketing strategies to achieve our data acquisition, lead generation, growth and engagement KPIs, providing reporting and analysis, and identifying new lead generation opportunities.
- Manage the ESP relationship, devise new approaches to leverage our intelligence tool, and explore growth and development opportunities.
- Develop and manage automated email programmes across the consumer journey.
- Run lead generation campaigns and third-party partnerships taking key learnings from consecutive campaigns to optimize reach and results.
- Manage and develop the Email Marketing Manager.
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant email marketing experience, with a deep understanding of the email campaign management process.
- Experience in marketing automation, with the ability to develop and deliver automated campaigns.
- A strong understanding of email marketing regulations, best practices, and GDPR compliance.
- Excellent consumer copywriting skills, with an eye for detail when it comes to editing and proofing.
- Strong design and formatting skills.
- Experience with data and analysis tools to provide reporting and insights.
- Experience in developing third-party partnerships for data capture purposes
- Management experience.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
We’d love it if you had:
- A passion for books and reading.
- Experience with multiple ESPs, including Mapp.
- Experience with CMS platforms.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
Salary starting from: £42,000 onwards

This is a full time, fixed term role for 12 months, and will be based in our office in Farringdon, London with some flexibility to work from home each week.
